Class AB1 Power Amplifier

The Apollon is an extraordinarily resilient Class AB1 amplifier. First, it is capable of working with any pentode tube: EL34 6550, KT77, KT88, KT90, KT120 and more. The power of the Apollo is between 50 watts and 150 watts per channel.

In addition, you can work in two modes: Pentode mode or Triode mode. In Pentode mode (also called Ultra linear) we get more power and more control over the speaker. On the other hand, in triode mode we get a soft, more musical sound, but at half the power that the Pentode mode delivers. For example, with KT120 tubes we get 150 watts compared to 75 watts, for EL34 (and KT77) we get 100 versus 50 watts. KT88, KT90 and 6550 will yield about 120 watts compared to 60. This allows adjustment to speakers, to the preferred tube and to personal taste.

You can also choose between Normal feedback and Low feedback. Here, too, we will get audible differences. The transition between the different modes is done by shifting a switch.
